The messages the site can show you, what each one actually means, and the first thing to try.

Signing in and account#

What you see What it means What to do
The confirmation email never arrives It was sent but filed away, or the address has a typo. Check spam. If it really is not there, register again with the address typed carefully.
You confirmed but still cannot sign in The site requires administrator approval for new accounts. Wait for the approval email. The message after confirming says so.
Registration is currently closed, please check back later! New accounts are switched off site wide. Nothing you can do from your side.
If an account exists for that email address, a password reset link has been sent. and nothing arrives There is no account on that address. Try the other address you may have used, or register.

Uploads and flights#

What you see What it means What to do
This track was already uploaded. The same file content is already in your log. Renaming does not help. Find the existing flight. Delete it first if you really want to replace it.
This IGC file appears invalid or too short. No usable fixes in the file. Re export from the instrument. Very short flights are also rejected.
This flight was flown on ... and is from a past year. Only flights from the current calendar year can be uploaded here. Use Flight History Import for older flights.
This flight is ... days old ... and exceeds the ... day upload window. It is stored as private and locked pending administrator approval. Nothing on your side. Upload sooner next time, especially for competitions.
Free accounts are limited to 12 flight uploads per year. The free plan cap for the current year. Upgrade, or wait for January.
A flight sits on Analyzing Parsing is queued or running. Give it a minute and reload. If it becomes Failed, the file could not be read.
A public flight shows Pending Public It goes public by itself once parsing finishes. Wait. If parsing failed it stays hidden and says so.
My wing is not in the glider list The database spells it differently, it is only pending review, or it is genuinely new. Type less, for example only the model name: the search forgives typos and brand variants and lists pending wings too. If it is still missing, use Propose a new glider and look at the close matches it shows before pressing Create anyway. See Picking and proposing a glider.
I proposed a glider that already existed Two spellings of one wing. The database now catches most of these, but older duplicates can still exist. Nothing to do on your side. Administrators merge duplicates and every flight follows the merge automatically. Pick the existing entry next time.
After upload: your recorder switched altitude reference An external vario connected over Bluetooth kept dropping out, so the app fell back to a different altitude source for a few seconds at a time. The track steps up and down by 50 to 150 m every few fixes. Nothing to do. The affected fixes are corrected on upload and the notice tells you how many. The barogram, the 3D view and the climb and gain figures all use the corrected altitude. Keeping the vario paired and close to the phone reduces the dropouts.

Something is missing from my dashboard#

Two different things cause a missing tab, and the site tells you which.

A membership gate
The tab is replaced by a line naming the plan, for example Task manager is available from SkyTrackLight. See Memberships.
A capability
Nothing is there at all. You are not staff on that competition, or not a member of that organization with the right role. Ask the organizer or the club owner.

If you cannot see a competition at all in your list, confirm that you are staff on it, or that you manage the organization behind it.

Live tracking problems#

What you see What it means What to do
No live pilots in view. Nobody in the current selection is broadcasting right now. Switch the selector to All Live Pilots to check that the map itself is working.
The badge says POLLING The live stream is unavailable, so the page asks the server at intervals. Nothing. Everything works, just less instantly.
A pilot stopped moving Almost always a coverage gap, not a landing. The Last fix time tells you when their last position arrived. Wait. The gap fills in when they get signal back.
A pilot is missing from a competition live view Competition views only show confirmed participants of that competition. Check the registration status of the pilot, and that live tracking is enabled on the competition.
Upgrade to Light or higher to create buddy groups. Free accounts can join groups but not create them. Ask someone with a paid plan to create the group and invite you.

Competitions#

As a pilot, if you cannot edit your own registration you are in a status that locks it: payment requested, rejected, canceled or refunded.

As an organizer, if a status change is refused it is one of three guards: required profile fields are missing on the registration, a required document is not verified at the step your rule enforces, or the event has reached its maximum pilot capacity. The message names which.

A comp ID that is refused is not numeric, is not greater than zero, or is already taken by another pilot in the same competition.

Scoring#

Symptom Cause Fix
A file was not matched to a pilot The pilot name in the file name or the IGC header does not match the registration. Fix the file name and upload again, or select the track by hand in Pilot Tracks.
A pilot shows No track Nothing was uploaded for them, or their track failed to parse. Check Pilot Tracks for the parse error, and notify missing track pilots from the Tasks tab.
The background jobs pill never disappears The score worker is not running. It is a server side job. Contact whoever administers the site.
A settings change did nothing Settings apply on the next scoring run. Press Run Score again.

Still stuck#

Ask in the forum. Include what you did, what you expected and the exact message you got, and somebody will usually have seen it before. For anything involving a payment or an account you cannot reach, use the contact page instead so it stays private.
