26Competition analysis

What it shows#

Once a competition day has been scored, its analysis page becomes available from the competition's tasks and results. It draws the task and every pilot's track on one map, with a synchronized replay and a barogram.

It is public: no account, no membership, no registration. Anyone can open a day and see how it was flown, which is exactly what makes competition flying worth watching.

Working through a day#

The sidebar lists the pilots with their result on the day: score, distance, speed, start time, end of speed section and goal time. Search by name to find someone in a field of a hundred and fifty.

• Toggle a pilot to draw or hide their track. Several at once is the point: that is how you see where the lead gaggle split.
• Play the day back, with the same speed controls as the flight page.
• Open the altitude profile to compare climbs and glides against each other rather than against the clock.
• Copy the shareable link to send someone the exact day you are looking at. It opens on the same part of the map, at the same moment, with the same pilots selected.

For organizers#

The analysis is generated from the scored day, so it appears once a task has been scored and published. Nothing extra needs to be uploaded.

The page itself has to exist on the site: an administrator creates a page carrying the competition analysis block and points the plugin settings at it. Until that is done, the analyze links stay inert and pilots are sent back to the competition instead.
