Browsing ads#

Where Paragliding Classified Ads

The classifieds are open to everyone. Ads are grouped in categories, with featured ads at the top, and the filter panel narrows the list.

Keyword
Free text across the ads. When you know the model you want.
Category
Wings, harnesses, varios, and whatever else the site defines. Always faster than searching.
Price range
Minimum and maximum. Ads with no fixed price are marked as contact for price, negotiable or free.
Condition
New, Like new, Good, Used, For parts
The state of the item as the seller describes it. For a wing, ask for hours and a trim check anyway.
Show sold items
Includes ads already marked as sold. Useful for seeing what things actually sold for.

An ad page shows the photos, the description, the price and condition, the location, when it was posted, the seller with their rating and member since date, and other ads from the same seller.

Placing an ad#

  1. Press Post an Ad. You need an account.
  2. Pick the category, and fill in the title and description.
  3. Set the price and the price type: fixed, negotiable, free or contact for price. Choose the currency.
  4. Set the condition, and whether shipping is included.
  5. Add the location: country, city and postal code.
  6. Upload photos, up to the site's limit per ad.
  7. Publish.

Your ads are managed under My Ads on your dashboard, where each one can be edited, marked as sold, renewed when it is about to expire, featured, or deleted.

Caution

There is a limit on how many active ads you can have. If you reach it: Mark one of your active ads as sold or delete it to free up a slot. Ads also expire after a set number of days, which is what Renew ad is for.

Note

Depending on the site's settings, new ads may go through moderation before they appear.

Talking to a buyer or a seller#

Where Profile Inbox

Message seller on an ad starts a private conversation about that item. Both sides see it in their classifieds inbox, and images can be attached, which is how most "send me a photo of the trailing edge" conversations go.

A conversation can be deleted, and a user can be blocked. A blocked conversation shows This conversation is blocked. and no further messages get through.

Favorites and saved searches#

Add to favorites keeps an ad on your Favorites tab, so you can compare three wings without losing any of them.

Save this search stores the current filter combination under a name. On the Saved searches tab you can run one again with a click, see when it was last checked, and switch on Email me when new matches show up.

Tip

A saved search with an alert is the only realistic way to catch a rare size at a fair price. The good ones sell in hours.

Ratings, reports and staying safe#

After a purchase you can rate the seller, with an optional comment. The rating appears on their profile and on every ad they place, which is the only reputation the market has.

Report ad flags a listing to the moderators. The reasons are scam or fraud, spam, prohibited item, offensive content, duplicate listing and other, with room for details.

Important

The site hosts the conversation, not the transaction. It never handles the money, holds a deposit or ships anything. Meet in person where you can, inspect a wing before paying, and treat any request to pay through an unusual channel as the warning it is.
