What is public and what is not, how long live positions are kept, who sees the personal details you give a competition, and what deleting your account does.
What is public by default#
Almost nothing is public unless you decide it is. The exceptions are the things you actively publish.

Flights#
A public flight shows its track, its statistics, your pilot name and profile details, your glider, and the takeoff. Signed in pilots can download its IGC file, comment on it and react to it.
A private flight is visible to nobody but you. It is not in any feed, ranking, challenge, league or record board, and its file cannot be downloaded by anyone else.
Note
Flights from a past year have their visibility locked, which stops historic rankings changing under people. If you need one changed, an administrator can do it.
Live positions#
While you broadcast, your position is public on the live map: anyone can see where you are, how high and how fast. That is the point of live tracking, and it is why it is off until you turn it on.
Positions are not kept forever. Recent live data is held for a short window for the map itself, and the archive that feeds the day analyzer keeps roughly a week. After that the day is gone unless somebody uploaded the flight.
A pilot who stops sending is marked offline after a while and removed from the map after longer. Those windows are site settings.
What a competition sees#
A competition registration asks for far more than the rest of the site: your address, your date of birth, your license numbers, your insurance policy, your emergency contact, and documents proving them.
That data goes to the organizing team of that competition, and to the staff whose role includes registrations. It is not shown on the public page: the public pilot list shows your name, country, glider and comp ID, not your address.
Caution
Uploaded documents are stored so staff can verify them. If you are not comfortable with a particular organizer holding a copy of your identity document, that is a conversation to have with them before you upload it, not after.
Deleting your account#
Delete Profile removes your access and your data. If you delete your account, you will lose all your data. is not a formality.
Important
Hand over anything other people depend on first: organizations you own, competitions you run, leagues you administer. A competition whose owner has vanished is a real problem for everyone registered on it.
Some records survive by necessity rather than by choice. A competition result that has been published as official is part of that event's history, and financial records of payments have to be kept. If you need something specific removed, use the contact page and say what and why.
