3Pilot profile

Your pilot details, your avatar, and the Wing and Pilot designers that decide how you appear to other pilots on live maps and on your tracks.

What the profile is used for#

Your profile is the identity that travels with your flights. It is what appears next to your name in a competition, in a league table, on a live map and on any flight you publish.

Caution

The profile lives on the server. Loading it and saving it both need a connection. If you are offline the app says so rather than silently losing your edits.

Account details#

Avatar
Your profile picture. Tap it to pick a new one from your photos. Set one so other pilots recognize you in feeds and leaderboards.
Name
Your full name or display name. Competitions normally expect your real name here.
Email
The address your account is registered with. It is shown for reference only. Change it on the website, not in the app.

Pilot details#

These fields feed tasks, leagues and statistics. Fill in the ones that apply to you and leave the rest empty.

Pilot nickname
The short name other pilots see. Optional. Use it if you prefer a call sign to your full name in live views.
Gender
Male / Female / Other or prefer not to say
Used for category scoring in some competitions and leagues. Set it if you enter competitions that score categories separately.
Country
The country you represent. Some leagues cannot rank you until this is set, and will prompt you for it.
Flying since
The first year you started flying. Purely informational, shown on your public profile.
License number
Your national license number. Competition organizers often ask for it at registration.
Civil ID
Your federation identifier. Needed for some sanctioned competitions.
Flying style
XC / Competition / Hike and Fly / Acro / Tandem / Speedfly / Paramotor / Just for fun
How you mostly fly. Shown on your public profile and used to group pilots in the community feed.
  1. Open Settings, then Profile.
  2. Edit the fields you want to change.
  3. Press Save profile. The app confirms with Profile saved.

Wing Designer#

The Wing Designer decides what your glider looks like to everyone else. The wing you build here is drawn on the live map and along your flight tracks, so pilots following you can pick you out among several markers.

Pattern
The layout of the color scheme across the wing.
Primary color
The main color of the canopy.
Secondary color
The accent color used by the pattern.

Tip

Match it to your real wing. On a busy competition live map, a wing that looks like the one people saw you launch with is far easier to follow than a name in a list.

Pilot Designer#

The Pilot Designer covers how you are drawn when you are not flying, for example waiting on launch or after landing.

Skin tone
The skin tone of the figure.
Primary color
The main clothing color.
Secondary color
The accent clothing color.
Strap color
The harness strap color.

Note

Both designers are stored with your account, so they follow you to the website and to any device you sign in on.
