Theme, app language, screen and battery behavior, diagnostics and log sending, and deleting your account.

Theme#

Where Settings › Other › Appearance
Use system theme
Default: Selected
Follows the device light or dark setting. The sensible default if your phone already switches at the right times.
Light theme
Always light. Best readability in strong sun for most people.
Dark theme
Always dark. Easier on the eyes and on the battery, and it makes the track and task stand out on the map.
Automatic day and night
Dark between sunset and sunrise at your last known location. Good for pilots who fly late. It uses your position rather than a fixed clock, so it follows the season.

Tip

The flight page uses a true black background in dark mode, which saves real battery on an OLED phone.

App language#

App language
System default, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Portuguese (Brazil) Default: System default
Whether the app follows the device language or uses a specific one. Set it explicitly if your phone is in one language and you prefer the app in another, which is common with aviation terminology.

Note

Audio alerts are localized too, so switching the language also switches the spoken alerts.

Screen and power#

These three settings are covered in Recording a flight, where they matter.

Keep screen on during flight
On or off Default: On
Prevents the screen sleeping while a flight is running.
Battery save mode
On or off Default: Off
Keeps the flight screen awake, dims it after idle time, and slows the live map refresh while dimmed.
Dim after
30 seconds / 1 minute / 2 minutes / 5 minutes Default: 1 minute
How long the flight page waits with no touch or remote activity before it dims.

The feature demo#

Open feature demo shows what the app displays in XC and competition flying, using safe demo data, without starting a flight. The app describes it as Explore XC guidance, competition helpers, tiles, banners, and sounds with safe demo data.

Tab Shows
XC The XC guidance cards in their different states.
Comp Competition banners: countdown, window open, final glide and task completion.
Tiles Every tile with realistic data, grouped by category. Tap one to read what it shows.
Info Banners Task information banners such as window open, start taken and turnpoint reached.
Alert Banners Airspace and obstacle alerts, plus sound previews.

Tip

This is the best place to learn the tiles before you build a layout, and the only sensible place to hear what each alert sounds like.

Diagnostics and debug#

If something misbehaves, these settings let you capture what happened so you can share it in the forum.

Debug mode
On or off Default: Off
Logs key diagnostics for investigating a problem. It also reveals the demo flights and the ESS / Goal simulator. Turn it on when someone in the forum asks for a log, or when you want the demo flights and simulators. See Testing your cockpit on the ground.
Verbose logging
On or off Default: Off
Records deeper technical detail and may use more storage. Enabling it also enables debug mode. Only for a problem that is hard to reproduce. Turn it off again afterwards.
Send debug log to support
Shares the diagnostics bundle out of the app, so you can attach it to a forum post.
App version
The version you are running. Tap it to copy, confirmed with App version copied. Always include it when reporting a problem.
  1. Turn on Debug mode, and Verbose logging too if the problem is subtle.
  2. Reproduce the problem.
  3. Press Send debug log to support and share the bundle, then attach it to a post in the forum with a short description.
  4. Turn verbose logging off again.

Caution

If there is nothing to send, the app says No diagnostics files available yet. Enable debug mode, reproduce the issue, then try again. The order matters: enable first, then reproduce.

Note

With debug mode on you also get Open active flight benchmark, which flies a synthetic flight through the real flight screen, and Open ESS / Goal simulator, described in Final glide.

Deleting your account#

Where Settings › Other › Account and data

Delete account removes your SkyTrackPro account from the server, including flights, tasks, memberships and other data.

  1. Press Delete account.
  2. Read Delete SkyTrackPro account? carefully.
  3. Tick Yes, permanently delete my account.
  4. Confirm. The app reports Your SkyTrackPro account has been deleted.

Important

This cannot be undone. Export your flights first with Export all IGC from the logbook, described in Logbook and replay.

Note

Deleting the account removes the server side data. Flights and settings stored on the phone may remain there, and are removed by deleting the app.
