10Pilot notes
Personal reminder widgets on the flight screen: write your own notes and have them appear permanently, on a button press, or automatically after thermaling, after a long glide, or when you get very high or very low.
What pilot notes are#
A pilot note is a short personal message that shows up on the flight screen exactly when you want it: drink water after a long climb, push bar on transitions, look for landing options when you get low. Each note is its own small widget with its own text, styling, screen position and display rule, and you can have several at once.
Tip
Notes work well for motivation, not only for reminders. A note that says you are doing fine, shown after ten minutes of thermaling, lands at exactly the moment you have earned it.
Creating and editing notes#
- Tap Add note and write the text.
- Pick when the note shows (see the next section) and, for automatic rules, set the threshold.
- Choose how long it stays on screen, which alert sound it plays, and how long to wait before it may show again.
- Style it: font size slider, text and background colors, and an emoji as the note icon, with a live preview.
The switch on each row enables or disables a note without deleting it. Drag the handle to reorder notes; the order is also the stacking order on the flight screen.
When a note shows#

| Approaching the next turnpoint | When the distance to the active task turnpoint drops below the set value, once per turnpoint: your own words next to the built-in 200 m approach cue. |

| When the battery drops below a level | When the phone battery reaches the set percentage, once until it is charged above it again. |
Note
Altitude rules stay quiet for the first 5 minutes after takeoff so nothing fires on launch, and every automatic note waits at least its Show again after pause before repeating. Notes never appear in saved flight replays.
A note that appeared automatically can be dismissed early with a tap. The Notes button, available as a layout button tile and as a remote control action, shows and hides all enabled notes at once.
Glasses and voice#
Tip
A fired note also pops up on connected ActiveLook glasses, and with Speak the note text enabled the app reads the note aloud after the alert sound, so the reminder lands with your eyes outside the cockpit. Voice, language and speed follow your phone's text-to-speech settings. Check speech once in airplane mode: if it stays silent, download the offline voice data for your language in the phone settings.
Position and size#
Open the flight layout editor: every enabled note appears there as a draggable preview. Drag it anywhere on the layout, or tap it for a size slider and a reset back to the default spot below the top banners. A note's position is shared by all layout pages. Hiding the editor toolbar hides the note previews with it, so a long list of notes never blocks the tiles underneath.
Tip
The editor preview uses the note's real text and styling, so what you place is exactly what you will see in the air.
