2Install and first run
Installing the app, signing in with your SkyTrackPro account, the permissions it asks for and why, and the one sync that has to happen while you still have coverage.
Installing the app#
The app is called STP Supporter on the home screen and SkyTrackPro Supporter inside. It is a separate app from the pilot app, and you can have both installed at the same time.
The app runs on a phone or a tablet and turns with the device: hold it sideways and the layout follows. Everything is designed to be usable one handed while you hold a phone in one hand and a QR code in the other.
Signing in#
You sign in with your normal SkyTrackPro account, the same email and password you use on the website. There is no separate supporter account and no registration inside this app.
- Enter your email and password. The eye icon shows the password if you need to check it.
- Tap Sign in. The button reads Signing in... while it works.
- The app loads your competitions, the categories of the first one, and its pilot list.
Caution
Signing in needs internet. Offline you get You are offline. Internet is required for login. and nothing else happens. Sign in once at the hotel, and the session stays on the phone.
The session is stored in the phone's secure storage and survives restarts, so you normally sign in once for the whole event. It is refreshed automatically in the background while you use the app. You stay signed in until you use Logout from the menu.
Note
If you see no competitions after signing in, the account is fine but it is not staff on anything yet. See Roles and access.
Tip
Help and manual under the sign in button, and again in the menu once you are in, opens this manual in your browser. It is the same text in whichever language the app is set to.
Permissions, and when they are asked#
The app asks for a permission at the moment it first needs it, never at startup.
Note
If you refused the camera permission once, the app cannot ask again. Grant it in the phone's system settings for STP Supporter and reopen the scanner.
The sync that has to happen first#
Everything the app can do offline depends on one sync you do while you still have a connection. Do it the evening before, on wifi, not at the take off.
- Select the competition you will work on.
- Pull down on the QR Scan tab to refresh, or use Refresh all from the menu.
- Wait until the Quick status card shows a pilot count and a line like Pilot cache refreshed: 137 pilots at 2026-08-02 19:40.
That single refresh pulls the list of competitions, the categories of the selected competition, the full pilot list, and every pilot photo, which is downloaded and stored on the phone so the confirmation screen can show a face with no signal. On a large competition the photos are the slow part, so give it a minute.
Tip
Photos are cached per competition. If you work two competitions in one week, select each one and refresh it once while you have wifi.
The checklist before you lose signal#
- The right competition is selected, and its name is on the Ready to scan card.
- Quick status shows a pilot count above zero.
- Pending and Failed are both at zero, so you are not carrying yesterday's queue into today.
- The category you need exists in the chip row. Categories are set up on the website, and a missing one cannot be created here.
- The phone is charged. Scanning is cheap, but the live map and position sharing are not.
