One thing that can be recorded about a pilot by scanning: registration, take off, goal, a bus. Defined per competition on the website.

The in or out side of a category that people pass in both directions. Categories without it carry the phase none.

The pilot's competition number, the one on the glider and on the scoreboard.

The internal number of a pilot's registration for one competition. Unique per competition, unlike a name.

The category scanned at registration. It carries the pilot's full record and gates the other categories offline.

The people the organizer has given access to a competition. Being staff is what makes a competition appear in this app.

The competition day a task belongs to, written as 2026-08-03. Not always the same as the calendar day for scoring purposes.

The rules the task is scored under, for example a national or an FAI ruleset.

A point pilots have to reach in order. Drawn on the map as the shape they must enter.

A turnpoint shaped as a circle of a given radius. The most common kind.

A wedge shaped turnpoint, oriented along the course line.

Start of speed section. Where the clock starts. Drawn in blue.

End of speed section. Where the clock stops, which is not always at goal. Drawn in amber.

The end of the task, either a cylinder or a line. Drawn in red.

A goal shaped as a line across the course line instead of a circle.

The shortest legal way through all the shapes. The blue line on the map, and the basis of the optimized distance.

The stretch between two consecutive turnpoints.

A time in the task schedule: take off open, start time, window close, deadline.

The organizer ending a running task, usually for weather or an incident.

One pilot publishing positions for one task. It appears on the map when their app starts and drops off when it stops.

A single reported position with its time. Last fix is the age of the newest one, and the honest measure of how current a marker is.

Above ground level: height above the terrain below the pilot, as opposed to altitude above sea level.

The line of past fixes behind a pilot. Shown on demand per pilot.

The pilot's device reports them as flying. A pilot on the ground is shown as Ground.

How far through the task a pilot is, as a percentage. A leading ≈ means this app estimated it from their position and the route.

The copy of a competition's pilot list and photos stored on the phone, so scanning works offline.

Scans made without a connection, waiting on the phone to be uploaded.

Queued scans that have not been uploaded yet.

Scans the server actively refused. They need a human, not a retry.

A report a pilot sends from their app: landed safe, need help, SOS, need retrieve, no retrieve, retrieve canceled.

A staff member marking a status message as taken on. The first one wins and everybody sees it.

Giving a retrieve driver a specific pilot to collect, from the Live Ops feed or from the website. Reassigning hands the pilot to another driver rather than adding a second one.

The driver confirming that the pilot is in the car. It closes the assignment.
