Native Apps 1.8.3

Over three releases since 1.8.0, SkyTrackPro has added a stack of new features and polish across the whole app. This roundup covers 1.8.1, 1.8.2 and 1.8.3, all now available for iOS and Android. Highlights include the new iOS Live Activity and rich Android notification, live photo and video sharing to the live map, an expanding AeroCell tile suite in beta, upgraded Pilot Notes and permanent airspace mutes.

Flight Presence Outside the App (1.8.3)

The flight now stays visible even when you are not looking at SkyTrackPro. On iOS a proper Live Activity shows on the lock screen and Dynamic Island, and on Android a richer notification carries the flight phase, altitude, track and takeoff time.

Live Photo and Video Sharing (1.8.3)

Live tracking now carries more than just your position. Photos and short video clips you take while flying are shared straight to the live map, so your buddies can see the moment as well as the path.

AeroCell Tile Suite (Beta, 1.8.2 and 1.8.3)

The AeroCell tile family expands into a full beta suite for pilots who want to explore airspeed, polar and speed to fly data more deeply.

• New AeroCell airspeed tile in beta, with saved results and replay scoring across the whole track (1.8.2)
• New AeroCell polar tile in beta (1.8.3)
• Calypso Ultrasonic airspeed now supported on the AeroCell tile, with a log that keeps every line
• CSV export of the AeroCell data
• Adjustable averaging time and circling gate
• Vario connection shown directly on the AeroCell airspeed tile
• Audio warning when the AeroCell airspeed goes over the limit

Pilot Notes Upgrades (1.8.1)

Pilot Notes gets several practical upgrades that make the feature easier to live with day to day.

• New battery level trigger to alert you when your device is running low in flight
• Choose any emoji as the note icon for instant recognition
• Note sets have been removed for a simpler, cleaner setup
• Notes hide with the toolbar in the layout editor

Airspace Mutes (1.8.2)

Persistent airspace mutes let you clean up the alerts you never want to hear again, without losing the ability to bring them back later.

• Permanently mute individual airspaces
• Dedicated muted list to bring them back at any time
• Airspace ids stay stable across dataset renewals, so your mutes survive updates

Flight Map Explore Behaviour (1.8.3)

The flight map now respects your intent when you interact with it. If you move the map to look at something, it stays there. Once you leave it alone, it comes back to follow you.

Live Tracking and Sign In (1.8.2 and 1.8.3)

• Live tracking reminders for competition flights, so you never forget to enable it before the start (1.8.2)
• Sign in now asks for an emailed code when your club requires one, in all seven languages and covered in the Pilot Manual (1.8.3)

Cleaner Share Card and Cockpit (1.8.2 and 1.8.3)

• The share card is now one composition, with the track shaded by climb rate (1.8.3)
• L/D now shows a display ceiling like "50+" instead of blank or infinite (1.8.2)
• Localised flight too short message across every locale

Exports and Landscape (1.8.1)

• Save to device is now offered alongside Share for every export, useful on Android where the share sheet has no save target
• Bottom sheets keep content reachable in landscape mode

Altitude and Maps

• Barometric and GNSS altitude now recorded as two independent references, for better analysis and IGC quality (1.8.1)
• Map labels rendered at half the weight for a cleaner look, using glyph packs where MapLibre needs them and font files for the rest (1.8.3)

Competition

• Competition files now show type and size straight from the server (1.8.3)
