The new SkyTrackPro Version 1.8.0 is now available for iOS and Android. This release introduces a brand new Hike and Fly mode that captures a whole day of walking and flying as one experience, a full Pilot Notes system with in flight reminders and text to speech, live FLARM and FANET traffic on the flight map, a progressive vertical airspace warning that scales with your climb rate.

Alongside 1.8.0 we are launching the full SkyTrackPro Pilot Manual online. It is a complete, in depth guide to every part of the app, written for real pilots and updated with every release.

Hike and Fly Mode

Hike and fly finally gets its own mode in SkyTrackPro. Instead of starting and stopping recordings around each launch, the app captures the entire day of walking and flying as a single recording, so your day tells one continuous story.

Pilot Notes

Pilot Notes is a brand new system that lets you set reminders for yourself before you fly and have them delivered clearly in the cockpit. Perfect for training goals, safety reminders and personal checklists.

FLARM and FANET Traffic

Traffic awareness comes to SkyTrackPro with support for FLARM and FANET from a connected vario, shown directly on the flight map.

Progressive Vertical Airspace Warning

Vertical airspace warnings now scale with your climb rate, giving you a stronger nudge when you are climbing fast toward a ceiling and less noise when you are climbing gently or descending.

Task Import and Editor Improvements

• Import a task from a QR code image via the file picker, ideal for tasks you have received as screenshots
• Task editor: clearer task times layout with a dedicated start block and an optional takeoff open fix
• Optimized crossing near a turnpoint is now solved again so the line and countdown stay exact

Cockpit Polish

• Edge linear bars always render white outlined labels for readability over any background
• Tile info popup no longer swallows taps while it is showing

Performance

• maplibre_gl upgraded to 0.27.0
• Reduced per fix cost of the rolling flight metrics
• One great circle distance, on one sphere, unified across the app
• Narrower rebuild scope, cached radar label layouts and a general const sweep
