SkyTrackPro 1.6.0

The new SkyTrackPro Version 1.6.0 is now available for iOS and Android. It is the culmination of four releases of work since 1.5.0 — covering 1.5.1, 1.5.2, 1.5.3 and 1.6.0 — and it brings a huge amount of new functionality: a personalised cockpit with a wing and pilot marker designer, a customisable flight puck, configurable glide and optimized line colours, new AGL at target and Arrival height metrics, a task study distance ruler, PureTrack live tracking mirroring, a richer weather layer with live wind stations and rain, a smoother flight start and many reliability fixes.

Personalise Your Cockpit

This is the big new theme in 1.6: make SkyTrackPro look the way you want it to look. From your pilot marker on the live map to the colour of your glide line, almost every visual element can now be tuned to your taste or team colours.

• New wing and pilot marker designer with a full colour picker for line and background
• Customisable flight puck: choose between dot, arrow or paraglider and pilot on the ground.
• Glide line colour is now customisable and toggleable
• Configurable optimized line colour, select the colour you like
• Flight tiles: custom labels, units toggle and target rename
• Target tile: dynamic rotating arrow with outline for better contrast over any map or background

New Metrics

Two important new metrics join the tile library, both designed for competition and XC pilots who want a clear read on where they are going and how high they will get there.

• AGL at target: live altitude above ground at the active turnpoint, following it as you move along the rim
• Arrival height: arrival margin shown alongside other final glide data
• Value dominant tile layout with enlarged values for faster reading in flight

New Task Study Tools

• Task study map: new distance ruler measure tool
• Per leg distance labels on both the optimized line and the study line, so the task reads itself

Weather Layer Expansion

The weather layer has grown substantially across these releases, with live wind stations on the map, new countries and a smarter weather sheet.

• Live wind stations on the map for Switzerland and Austria
• Added Spain (AEMET) and Slovenia (ARSO)
• Weather sheet now shows rain over the last 10 minutes and a relative last update time
• Weather data refreshes every 5 minutes
• Wind and gust label below the arrow for instant reading
• Weather arrows now sit above airspace so they stay tappable

Airspace Improvements

Airspace gets another round of refinement on top of the v1.5 overhaul, with one unified sheet and better feedback on what is live and what is not.

• One unified airspace sheet with show on map plus disable or enable in a single place
• Selectable chart bars and denser same colour highlights for easier scanning
• Airspace settings: manual update check, visible last updated time and cleaner naming
• Obstacles redrawn in magenta with lighter, thinner lines
• Landscape sheet scroll and airspace tap after rotation are fixed

PureTrack Live Tracking Mirroring

SkyTrackPro now mirrors your live tracking to puretrack.io in parallel with the existing live tracking, so your friends, family and team can follow you on whichever network they prefer.

• A unique device code is generated automatically

Smoother Flight Start and Home Page

• Auto start recording: your flight begins on its own when you launch
• Flight time is now anchored to actual takeoff time, not when recording started
• Richer active flight card on the home page with clearer status at a glance

Wind and Trail

• Wind course is now derived from GPS positions instead of device heading, for more reliable wind in all conditions
• New vario coloured flight trail
• Simplified thermal assistant core box

Side View Improvements

• A short press on the side view opens a summary of the configured metrics

Cockpit Resize and Layout Refinements

• Tile resize: map style edge handles, free upper size and a longer hold for fewer accidental drags
• Map can now resize on the cross axis too: width in portrait, height in landscape

Buddies and Web Integration

• Show trail button for flight buddies on the live map
• New Support the app button and sheet
• Website auto login reused for profile, buddies and logbook links

Map and Performance

• maplibre upgraded to 0.26.2: study map zoom regression fixed and snappier taps
• Thermal maps overlay no longer re renders while disabled, saving battery and frames

Battery Savings

• Navigation emit lowered to 3 Hz
• Sensor routing poll relaxed
• Internal dead code removed
• Saving another 10% of CPU and GPU

Replay

• Orientation lock for a steadier replay view
• Faster altitude graph

Reliability and Security

These releases include a long list of reliability and security fixes to make every flight more robust from launch to landing.

• Android GPS cold start hang fixed (no more waiting for the first fix)
• Flaky flight ending fixed by reverting lifecycle serialisation
• Track point insert is now idempotent, fixing a UNIQUE crash under fast GPS
• End flight races fixed by serialising service lifecycle commands
• Baro driver treats a missing sensor as permanent, stopping log spam
• Hardened input parsing against malformed airspace and sensor data
• Pre 1.5.2 robustness audit fixing resubscribe and connect races plus baro resurrection
