SkyTrackPro Summer Drop: Group Flight Analyze, 3D Trails and Satellite Maps

This release is packed. The brand new Group Flight Analyze page lets you replay an entire flying day from the live archive. The 3D engine now paints cinematic trails with ground curtains in live tracking and replays. Satellite imagery joins the map style picker, and a long list of live tracking improvements make every session smoother, clearer, and more accurate.

Replay your day, fly in 3D, and see the world like never before.

Brand New Group Flight Analyze Page

The new Analyze page is another big features. It pulls together every pilot who flew on a given day from the live tracking archive into one shared map and timeline.

  • Replay an entire day of group flying from the live archive
  • Pick a day from the day list, see every pilot who was in the air
  • Reads both the live and archive live tracking tables for full history
  • Per pilot selectable trails, with no auto selected clutter
  • Polished dark theme that matches the rest of SkyTrackPro
  • Export live archive flights to IGC, individually or all at once

Whether you flew with your club, an event, or a buddy group, the whole day is now one click away.

3D Trails With Ground Curtains, Everywhere

The cinematic 3D engine built on deck.gl now reaches further across the platform.

  • 3D trails on both Analyze and Live Tracking
  • Ground curtains that drop from your trail down to the terrain, so altitude is instantly visible
  • Lifted wing icons that sit at the correct height above the terrain
  • New 3D label above the wing for clean pilot identification
  • 3D ground curtain added to the track replay as well
  • Smoother glider rendering through a new dedicated deck.gl glider icon

Satellite Imagery on the Map

You can now switch any SkyTrackPro map to a satellite view. Combined with the SkyTrack Topo style and the new 3D engine, flights look more realistic than ever.

Smarter, Calmer Live Tracking

Live tracking got a long list of refinements:

  • Label declutter so busy skies stay readable
  • Buddy group filter to focus only on the pilots you care about
  • Delayed REST feed for a smoother, more consistent stream
  • Popup fixes for cleaner pilot info on click
  • Fixed icon, label and shadow drift, with the ground shadow now rendered as its own DOM marker
  • New car icon on the ground when a pilot moves faster than 15 km/h, so retrieve drivers are obvious
  • Fixed the public group badge that was wrongly showing as Private on the live tracking sidebar
  • True live tracking

Refreshed Airspace Data

Airspace sync has been moved from the legacy OpenAir bundle to the modern xcontest per country GeoJSON datasets, with a cleaner cron and better update reliability across regions. Fresh data every day with NOTAM times, the new app update will have a complete redesigned airspace UI/UX, stay tuned for the next announcement.

Turnpoint Elevation in Tasks

Task building is now elevation aware:

  • New Elevation field in the task editor, both in admin and on the front end
  • Turnpoint elevation included in task exports
  • Cleaner round trip with XContest tasks export
  • Waypoint list now sorts by Waypoint ID instead of name for predictable ordering

Quality and Maintenance

  • MapLibre GL updated to 5.24.0 for better rendering and stability
  • Fixed the Analyze day list that was missing prior days
  • Dashboard dropdown profile links now use hash anchors for instant tab switching
  • Forum: fixed double post issue and the native app button on mobile
Pick a day, hit Analyze, and watch your group flight come alive in 3D over satellite imagery. SkyTrackPro keeps pushing what flight analysis can feel like.

SkyTrackPro continues to evolve, helping pilots fly, analyse, share and connect better than ever before.
