SkyTrackPro Spring Wave: New Forum, Redesigned Home and Realtime Everything

This update is one of the last big ones. A brand new community Forum joins the platform, the home page has been completely redesigned with an aurora glass look and five live data feeds, the entire notification system has been centralised and pushed in realtime through a new websocket server, and the live tracking engine has been stabilised from the ground up.

Faster, more social, and finally truly realtime. SkyTrackPro has never felt more alive.

Brand New Community Forum

SkyTrackPro now has its own full featured Forum. A place to ask questions, share experiences, post trip reports, and connect with other pilots inside the platform you already use for your flights.

  • Discussions, replies, reactions and threaded conversations
  • Per usergroup permissions and a clean moderation queue
  • Tags, flags, and a dedicated analytics view in the admin
  • Font Awesome icon picker for tags and reactions
  • Private messages between members
  • Forum specific notifications, fully wired into the new realtime system

The Forum runs alongside Classifieds, Live Tracking, and your flights, so the whole community lives in one place.

Redesigned Home Page: Aurora Glass and Five Live Feeds

The SkyTrackPro home page has been completely rebuilt with a modern aurora glass look. It is faster, lighter, and gives pilots a true overview of the community at a glance.

  • Five live feeds on the front page: latest flights, competitions, classifieds, forum and news digest
  • Faster flight loading on the home stream
  • New apps hero block with a polished, glassy finish
  • Refreshed competition and news digest blocks
  • Better responsive behaviour on every device

Centralised Realtime Notifications

The entire notification stack has been rebuilt and centralised. One unified system now handles notifications from SkyTrack, the Forum, Classifieds and beyond, and it pushes them live over websockets.

  • Brand new JScms websocket server with watchdog, supervisor and nginx deploy files
  • Instant notification delivery, no more polling
  • Realtime catchup so you never miss an event after coming back to a tab
  • Classifieds and Forum messaging now flow over the same realtime layer
  • One badge, one bell, one centre for everything you care about
Replies, sales, ratings and matches arrive the moment they happen, right inside SkyTrackPro.

Modernised Header and Dashboard Account Dropdown

The site wide header and navigation bar have been modernised, with a new dashboard account dropdown that gives logged in pilots quick access to their profile, flights, inbox, notifications, and settings.

  • Cleaner, more modern visual style across the entire site
  • Account dropdown with avatar, name and quick links
  • Smooth behaviour on mobile portrait and landscape
  • Improved keyboard and screen reader handling

Live Tracking Stabilised From the Ground Up

Live tracking has been refactored into a cleaner, more reliable engine with dedicated modules for trails, pilot motion and elevation.

  • Smoother trails with better geometry and cleaner stacking
  • Rock solid tab return behaviour, no more frozen maps
  • Faster initial load with reduced render cost
  • New DEM elevation module for accurate altitude readouts
  • Reworked pilot motion for smoother movement between updates

Improved WYSIWYG Editor and Forum Posts

The shared WYSIWYG editor used across the site has been improved, with better behaviour in Forum posts, Classifieds messages and replies.

  • Cleaner formatting toolbar with more reliable buttons
  • Better image and file loaders when uploading attachments
  • Open Graph image generation fixed for shared links
  • Forum post editing flows polished across the board

Topo Map and SkyTrack Tweaks

  • Glaciers visible at all zooms on the SkyTrack Topo style
  • SkyTrack tasks now allow Elevated Goal altitude down to 200 m for S7F (200 to 1000 m range)
  • Accordion blocks now remember their collapse state
Join the new Forum, explore the redesigned home page, and feel the difference of true realtime SkyTrackPro.

SkyTrackPro continues to evolve, helping pilots fly, share, trade and connect better than ever before.
